Today I went back to work at the temple. Every Thursday I help in the morning shift. There are many missionary couples serving and widows too. We go to a meeting an hour before everything start and than to our assignments. What I like about the temple is that time go by so fast. We never do the same thing each time. Today I was sent to be at the area where people come to get clothes if they need to rent them. There were some women there talking about different things from family to what people share with them and one of them told of a story she heard from sister Christensen so I hope I can remember what she said because it is something I need to write down.
She told us of an experience another sister had, sister Christensen, some time ago in the temple
where she
met a lady there that she
could tell was having a hard time sitting and in pain. she asked her about her
pain and she told her she used to be a firefighter and a building had collapsed
on her and she died, but was eventually rescued and revived. Being the curious
and bold person that she was, she asked her if she went to heaven. She reluctantly
told her that she had. sister Christensen asked her if she would tell her about her experience and
she was gracious enough to share with her. I loved what she said and thought I
would share it with all of you.
This woman told her that she had been raped and the
legal system had failed her. She told her she was a very angry, bitter, and
resentful person when she died. She had a chip on her shoulder and did not
trust or like anyone. She explained that the first thing that happened is that
she realized she was out of her excruciating pain, and hovering above her body.
She then thought "I have to get out of this building" and she found
she was outside. She was amazed at how she could travel with her thoughts. She
then thought of her family and found herself there with them. She thought of
her favorite place in Hawaii and found herself there. She loved her new found
freedom and was having the time of her life! She found she could travel back in
time and see things she wanted to see. She then thought about her Savior and
thought how unworthy she was to see Him and found herself there with him. As
tears rolled down her cheeks, she explained to sister Christensen the perfect and unconditional
Love He had for her. He knew every detail about her and very fault she had, and
yet He loved her and embraced her. She said there is no way to describe the
love that she felt from Him.
He explained to her that she would need to forgive
her Rapist. He told her that she would not get Justice in her life time, but a
plan for perfect Justice is in place. It is a plan that no one can argue or
deny, because it was set in place before we came to earth. It is the law of the
Harvest. We all reap what we sow, here on earth and in the next life it becomes
very clear to us. She was shown that when you hurt someone, If you don't repent
and make amends, that you have to experience the pain that you caused ,and the
ripple effect of the pain through generations. She was shown that her rapist
had hurt many people and she saw the pain that he would have to go through in
the next life. She felt so sorry for him and understood that Justice would be
paid. She was able to forgive him and let it go. She explained to sister Christensen that
Justice works for good as well, and that when we die we will experience and
feel the Joy that we have created when we were on the earth.
She said the
degree of Happiness we experience in the next life is something we create. It
is the Law of the Harvest. It is in place on Earth and in Heaven. Since she has
come back to earth, she has completely forgiven her attacker and has become a
different person. She finds herself wanting to create as much Joy as possible
while in her body. She works in the Temple 3 or 4 days a week. In her spare
time she works with Hospice patients, because she said, "Those are the 2
places on earth that you feel the closest to Heaven." She explained how
she tries to create Joy whenever she can ,because it follows us into Heaven,
that is Why the Savior asks us to Serve and Love one Another. She said it is
such a great feeling to not have to live by Faith any more, because she knows
for certain that Christ lives, and that there is a life after death. Her problem
now is living with her physical pain and the confinement of the physical body.
Depression tries to creep in because she knows the Joy and Freedom that we will
all experience on the other side. I loved hearing her story and so grateful this sister I don't even know her name shared it with us
!!!! It has made me a better person.
