There are a few things I will miss when we
moved from Santo Domingo. One is walking around the Ibero- Americano park with
Daniel at night and the Zumba class each night at 6 and 7 pm. Many years
ago, some ladies in the old Canyon Rim stake had dancing classes
every morning for the ladies of our stake so dancing to music while exercising
is not a new thing.
People come from all over the city for the Zumba, the otherday I saw two ladies that work at the office with Daniel who live so far away but lucky me, I get to just walk across the street. It is such a transformation from what that park looked like when we moved five years ago. It was all ugly and had nothing other than some caves. The mayor of the city had a meeting one day to disclosed the new project. People didn't believe it would be true but two years later, is a reality. Now entire families visit the park. it has swings and playground for the kids and places to ride a bike and skate of just go walking. One of the sections is dedicated for exercising with many exercise equipment and that is where they held the zumba class each night. They also have a beautiful amphitheater for entertainment. It would be nice for the BYU ambassadors to perform there someday since is just across from the temple.
