Fun Valentine's Weekend

Yesterday was a busy day. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to go to three places in Manila which included an 200 year old bamboo organ inside the St. Joseph's Parish Church considered a Philippine National Treasure. Later we visited a factory where gipneeys are manufactured and the home of General Aguinaldo who helped draft the Independence. These last home had seven floors and a tower like some type of a castle. It had many hidden doors and tunnels. The Aguinaldo family is a very prominent political family in the Philippines. The Mayor is Aguinaldo's grandson. We went to lunch afterwards and finally came home around 5:30 p.m. As usual the traffic was very slow.

On my way home I got a call from Brooks and arranged for our driver to pick him up and anyone who wanted to have dinner with us to come to our home so that were a few of the highlights of this day. We got out some humbugger patties and chorizo to cook on our grill. I made pico de gallo, potato salad and cole slaw. The crew got fed on their last night before going back to the States. They had been working so hard, I could tell how tired they were and how hungry too. The only thing that would have made this trip better is if Cristi and the kiddos had come with them too.
