Mabuhay house

Today we finally got to go to the Mabuhay Deseret Foundation.  It was founded by a Mission President who serve in the Manila and saw so many children with deformities. They take care of three health problems. Deformities or vision problems like cataracts etc. The home is a place where the patient and a care takes can stay while they are recuperation very much like the Ronald Mc Donald house in the U.S.

They handed me a card that read: "If you know anybody with cataract, cross eyes. cleft lip/palate, clubfoot, below the knee amputee. You can get  help through the Mabuhay Deseret Foundation.

Most of the time the surgery can be accomplished free of charge. However, we encourage our patients to contribute something for the next person in need.

The Mabuhay Deseret Foundation provides housing in Manila, Cebu, and Davao where the patient and one companion can be housed and fed while being treated.

The Mabuhay Deseret Foundation has been serving the Philippines for over 25 years has helped over 60,000 patients. They work with the finest Filipino doctors, using excellent facilities to accomplish the surgical care."

I am so impressed at what they are able to do. The before and after pictures are unbelievable! The Church donates a lot to them and I can see why. Love this place. There is a good spirit there.

Con amor,
Vero
