A Sunday in Cavite

I heard of Cavite, but didn't know where it was until today. This is a city by the airport where we attended the San Miguel ward today.  The chapel is cute with chairs instead of benches but it has air con. The other chapel we saw in the area didn't have air conditioning and the leaders there have petitioned for it so hopefully it makes it in the budget.

The meeting we attended is mostly in Tagalog but once in a while some things are expressed better in English and that is when we know what the topic is. The first speaker was a sister who related a story found in Alma 13 and also read Alma 38:12 She also talked about the Holy Ghost. She read Ephesians 6: 11-17. She concluded that the Holy Ghost is your best friend who making choices. She also said: "Remember who you are" The next speaker was a young man going on his mission. He is asking about sharing what  you know to your friends who are not members, because missionaries should be teaching not finding. The finding should be done by us. Don't keep what you know to yourself. Think of the Plan of Salvation, The First Vision and Eternal Nature of our Families. Read Mosiah 2:7 Finding success in this life depends on doing what our Heavenly Father wants us to do. Be in the service of God. The last speaker Talked about love in keeping the commandments shows our love to the Lord. Our Father in Heaven in his great wisdom do not shield us from sorrow, sadness or pain. "You shall have peace in me." We learn of Him. Listen to my words whether by my own words or the words of my servants it is the same. Listen to the Prophet's voice: President Monson.
"Remember to go to the temple to find peace." Remember Lehi's dream and the great and spacious building. People mocking and pointing their fingers at those who were taking part of the fruit. Alma the younger 38:8 talks about repentance. We will find peace if we continually repent.

So even though we don't know Tagalog, we get the message by reading the scriptures since all scriptures are read in English. I was looking at my notes that I keep in my iPad each Sunday and noticed all the different wards we have attended this year and it would probably take ten years to attend each and every ward in the Philippines so we are barely scratching the surface. Daniel wants to visit as many chapels as he can to ensure that the people are taking care of their buildings.

Con amor,
Vero
