Dedication of the MTC expansion

Finally the day came when the dedication of the MTC took place. This was something Daniel had been working since he got in two years ago. Present were Elder Soares, Elder Andersen, President and sister Carlos. First Elder Andersen had two missionaries give their testimonies. One from India and one from Mongolia. The MTC choir also sang.

Following were the MTC President and his wife who also spoke and afterwards it was time for Elder Soares share a few words about doing the work. Each member is a missionary. We can be their arms for the missionaries to invite the people to come to Christ. He told us how he recalls when he was a missionary in Brazil.

Next was sister Andersen who gave an amazing talk on foundation. She told us how as a mother and grandmother she is relieved to know how well our missionaries are cared for. Just like the foundation on the MTC building that was made to last a long time that is the same foundation we need to also have with our own testimonies. She spoke of scriptures found in Ephesians and Helaman.

In Closing Elder Andersen spoke of the little glitches that usually happen in our lives but nevertheless the work will continue. He used the box of kleenex  used to hold the podium as a example. He talked about D & C 65 as it talks about the gospel coming into distant lands through the whole earth. There could always be set backs like the box of kleenex. He said:  Look ahead into the future. We are called but not important where we are assign to labor. And then they read the dedicatory prayer from before and to add to that prayer he closed by pronouncing a special prayer for the building. It was a beautiful prayer and we are glad we got to witness it.

Con amor,
Vero
