When if rains it pours

I don't ever remember so many disasters happening one after another and what are the odds that I would have family in Houston, Miami and Mexico and dear friends in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic but all I know is that everyone is doing o.k. but what scary it must have been for those who experience the latest earthquake in Mexico.

My sister sent us a picture of the swimming pool overflowing with water in her building where she lives as if they had a huge waterfall. The next day, I also became awake that in Puerto Rico the storm Maria is destroying so much of the homes and roads.

This is a time for a lot of people to reflect on those things that really matter. This is also a time for people who can work together for a cause and leave aside political and religious differences. I hope that somehow people will help each other and bring a new sense of kindness to one another.

But life goes on and tonight we are going to attend a fundraiser by the American Association of the Philippines by contributing to one of their annual events. This is a "Saturday Night Live Fever" dinner and dance event with a live band playing music of the 70's and we are encouraged to dress up for the occasion and bring our $$$ to spend at their auction.

Con amor,
Vero
