For Such Time as This

Here in Argentina it’s a holiday today and tomorrow but no gatherings are allowed! We are back to when the pandemic started fourteen months ago. The lockdown is stricter than ever because unfortunately they don’t have the vaccine available the way it is in other countries so the cases have increased, nonetheless we keep our spirits up knowing that soon we will be heading to Utah.

We hope to attend Beckett’s baptism on July 10th in Idaho, Rockwell’s blessing and the sealing of Isaac and Lyric on July 23rd in the Payson temple, hence, we are crossing our fingers for the airports to remain open.

Elder Rasband told us in a meeting that we were born for such a time as this. At the 2021 Women’s conference via zoom he ended his remarks quoting the following.

“You have been born at this time for a sacred and glorious purpose. Your birth at this particular time was foreordained in the eternities.” Ezra Talf Benson

Esther in the Old Testament is an example of being in tune with what was expected of her. She was beautiful in her countenance and the king chose her to be his queen. He did not know she was a Jew. When the wicked chief minister convinced the King to sign a degree that all Jews should be executed, Esther adopted father petitioned her to go before the King and plead for her people. Who knowest he said, whether thou are come to the kingdom for such a time as this. She stepped forward with a plea to the King and courageously saved her people.

President Nelson has issued a call to all of the women of the Church for Such a Time a This. He has said: “Attacks against the Church, its doctrine and our way of life are going to increase, because of this, we need women who have a bedrock understanding of the doctrine of Christ and who will use that understanding to teach and help raise a sin-resistant generation. We need women who can detect deception in all of its forms. We need women who know how to access the power that God makes available to covenant keepers and who express their beliefs with confidence and charity. We need women who have the courage and vision of mother Eve.”

As we listened to him, we thought of the women in our family and feel deeply grateful to them and for the example they are to us. They all make us so proud!

Con amor,

Vero
