Devotional with Bishop Waddell

Today was a Devotional with Bishop Waddell at the Beehive Clothing plant. He told us that he grew up in California went on a mission to Spain and also served as a mission President in Barcelona Spain. He raised his family in San Diego. Was called as a General Authority and lived in Peru before his call as the Bishop. Loves the ocean.

He read a scripture how the body needs every part of the body. That everyone there is doing a good thing working to help those who are making sacred covenants in he temple. "your job is more than a job" he said. Ordinances and covenants are the credentials to be with our Heavenly Father. Keep your covenants and remember them. Remember, remember because Satan wants us to forget.

He read in Hellman Chapter 5 and he said 'The church is the atonement delivery system. If we keep, we will be exalted. It doesn't matter what others do or think but what God thinks of us. if we keep our covenants. We should be fine. Jesus Christ is the only one who can understand how we fell Remember Peter who also walked on water but lost his focus and he said Save me! Whenever we are sinking. Sometimes everything is good but other times life is a challenge.

Every Thursday morning there is a testimony meeting and President Monson is presiding at this meeting and he asks people in the room to bear their testimonies. One person stood to tell a story of a family he knew in his old town. They had a son who had gotten addicted to drugs and had run away. He was lost for a number of many years and no one knew where he was. This fellow had decided to join a bike group and was roaming the country but got tired of drugs and decided to get clean. He entered a half way house and was outside of this home sitting on the front porch when two missionaries walked by.

Two dogs went out barking at them but they were kept in chains so didn't do any harm. The missionaries stopped and went back to talk to this fellow and by some miracle the dogs fell asleep. They got talking and when the young missionary asked where he was from and told him of the name of his town the young missionary asked if he knew his family because he was from the same town. It turned out that this missionary was his younger brother. The missionary hugged him and told him how his family had been praying for all this time for him and his return. The missionary now understood why he was sent to Los Angeles and not some exotic country like he wanted. He knew his Heavenly Father sent hin there to find his brother. The Lord sent him. He knew him and he know you. That is no coincidence.

This fellow was embraced back into his home and family, He was brought back to the church and now has even married in the temple. Every Friday the Frist Presidency and the Bishopric meet together to discuss temporal matters. But nothing is really temporal, everything is spiritual.

Con amor,
Vero
