Happiness is...

The Happiest Place on Earth

And no, I am not talking about Disneyland. I am talking about Bear Lake…that is the happiest place on earth in my opinion!

We were blessed to be able to spend three glorious days there last week with our family. We are grateful that Liz was able to bring Mama Gloria to our reunion. We spent one day at the beach and one day wakeboarding and kayaking (oh, and eating way too much!) Thanks to all who prepared the meals and activities.

This was our first trip to Bear Lake. which is rare for Daniel as he has never been very good at taking time off, but we promised each other when we got married ten years ago, that we would take a good chunk of time off the Summer of 2019 to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary.

You can’t even imagine how happy we are that we made that promise because this was the first time we have been able to spend time together with our entire family made up of ten children, nine in-laws and 22 grandchildren. Bear Lake was the perfect setting to make memories that will last a lifetime and beyond.

It has also helped us to see how important it is to set time away with the people you love to just enjoy one another and to focus on strengthening our relationships. There is probably no relationship more rewarding than the bond between grandchildren and grandparents. Being parents and grandparents is the most gratifying thing in our lives, even more important than traveling or having money or material possession.

We get so caught up in our day to day being busy and getting things done that we sometimes forget to focus on the people we love. Summer only comes once each year.  Don’t let this summer pass you by without making time to spend it with the people you love.  It doesn’t have to be an expensive activity to be a great memory together.  Often the simplest activities make for the best memories of all.

The important thing isn’t what you are doing, it is who you are doing it with.

Con amor,
Vero
