Virtual dinner

Last week was a busy and eventful week for Daniel as he prepared for the area review. Elder Rasband was scheduled to come for ten days but the pandemic changed all those plans. We did manage to coordinate having all the meetings via zoom including a virtual dinner on Friday.

At the dinner, Elder Rasband explained that he has a new assignment starting August 1 and won’t be coming to The South America South Area anymore. He was emotional when he said that. He also said: “I want you to know brothers and sisters that Heavenly Father do not make mistakes. This pandemic, this crisis, this COVOD will be a thing of the past thanks to wonderful science, now we have the vaccine.” It is interesting to see the difference between the countries who could get the vaccine and those who did not. In Argentina, the first vaccine has been administered to about 25% and fully vaccinated 6%. We are still wearing masks. People remain working from home. Borders are closed. There is curfew from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am so not much has changed. It will be a huge improvement when most people get vaccinated.

He continued by saying, “As we come out of this condition is important that we have a vison for the future. We need to trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ We need to know that there is a reason we have been put through this test. We need to know that we have been given experiences because of this. We need to know that those experiences are design to make us better and stronger for what will be ahead of us…Know of our great love for you, our great appreciation for you and how much we need you. You are the Lord’s hands, you are his voices, you are able to reach out to the widows the oppressed, the poor, the needy, those who are sick and afflicted and I pray that Heavenly Father will bless you. “

There was time for questions from the members and each time he answered a question, he read a scripture. He said, “every answer is found in the scriptures.” He ended with an apostolic blessing and a message from President Nelson who is about to turn 97 and his mind is perfect and his health good. He said, We love you, Heavenly Father loves you, Jesus Christ loves you. Your leaders love you and we must persevere. We must look at how we might emerge from this now stronger, joyful, happily, and bring our families and our people back to Church, back to the temple, and do all we can dear friends to continue the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil.” He asked Daniel to give the closing prayer and when he finished, he said: “Thank you, my friend.”

Oh, how we wished you could have heard him.

Con amor,

Vero
