First fast Sunday of the year

Happy New Year everyone! The start of a brand new year – it is so exciting!  2015!!!  Don’t get me wrong, 2014 was a major year for my family that was full of big time milestones. we got to travel to Santiago Chile for the cluster meeting in February and visited the grave of Jose Ignacio, I went to El Salvador to vote in March and spent time with my sister and mom there and Mari in Miami then to Utah and in April for Hernan's graduation and for women's conference, To Utah, Idaho and Nebraska and New York in June and July and got to visit Ani after giving birth to her son Chris and went to see all the historic sites in New York and spent quality time in Miami on my way to the DR We went back in September to be at the babies blessing in Nebraska and visited Pablo. Went back to Utah in October for General Conference and in December we went to Uruguay and while we were there, Rachael gave birth to grandchild #10. Daniel traveled to multiple islands for work and got so much done.
On October 16 we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. It was an amazing year of accomplishment for our family indeed and it was a good year overall. The only two very sad events in that year was the passing of Shirley Van Leeuwen in February and Bianca's twin's miscarriage :( If those two things wouldn't have happened, we would have had a perfect year, but life is not meant to be perfect.
Now that 2014 is over, there is something incredibly exciting about the start of a brand new year. It’s a time to sit down and re-evaluate your goals and set new resolutions of what you want to accomplish with your year ahead and I love doing that!  I also love that heading into this New Year all of us have the chance to make a fresh start with life.  All of us have the chance to put the negative things from our past behind us, remembering only enough from the past to help us avoid making the same mistakes again. We can forgive and let go. And then we can focus our attention on the bright future that lies ahead – just think of the amazing possibilities for this upcoming year that exist for you!

Perhaps it will bring you a new job, a new love, a new friend, a new adventure, a new romance, a new home, a new school year, a new trip, a new achievement….the options are limitless.

As you head into this week I suggest that you take the time to sit down and either create a goal poster or update your current one. Cristi wrote an article on How Does She about doing this very thing and it works! I am making one for this year. I hope to figure out a way to put the link in here.

Today is the first fast Sunday of the year and the perfect time to make the new year resolutions and for family home evening tomorrow to place them into a vision board.
