Super Bowl Monday

Super Bowl Monday. Yes, you heard it, for us in the Philippines is not Sunday but Monday morning when the Super Bowl comes on and every Monday morning Daniel works from home so he is not interrupted and can attend to our family calling us since it's their Sunday evening but guess what? on this day of all days Daniel had to go to work and missed watching the game. How ironic!

Watching football by myself is not all that fun. Watching any game is more fun with people and a tradition is to invite friends over to watch those types of games but not here, not in the Philippines when your evenings are our mornings. Who would you invite and what would you serve? breakfast?

Oh well, apparently the game between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams was not all that exciting but what was sensational was to listen to Gladys Knight sing her rendition of the national anthem. Before  performance sister Knight had said how she hoped to bring people together and I think she did a wonderful job. It was flawless and beautiful. Gladys Knight is a national treasure. She must be feeling so proud!

Hands down her amazing voice with class and dignity was the best thing about the game and for our nation. She is truly a legend and an inspiration. I am so glad she didn't miss her midnight train to Georgia and was able to do an absolute stunning first class act!

Those were 2 minutes and 41 seconds of pure heaven. This is what our world needs: tolerance, hope, love and unity. Gladys performance was impeccable. I have to say that I got goosebumps and felt a lump in my throat because I love this country so much.

Con amor,
Vero
