An Ending also means a new beginning

For the last four years, I have had the privilege of attending different wards as part of what Daniel loves to do on Sunday for his work. We went all around the Philippines each Sunday and met people everywhere but today was different Daniel is out of town so I attended the Buen Dia ward where at one time I taught Relief Society.

I was lucky, Jennifer could drive because the traffic was unusually slow. It took us almost 2 hours to get home and later we discovered that it was because of the sales at the mall.

It was a special sacrament meeting and a linger longer activity afterwards to say goodbye to the families who are leaving the Philippines. I was looking at some of the children whom I have watched grow up and mature over the past four years. I have seen them blossom from grade school days to gorgeous and refined young men women. I am so proud of the youth and I love each one of them very much. Many people who work for the State Department are only in the Philippines for two years so the ward keeps changing all the time.

I was looking at a few families that still remained in the ward since we came which is rare. In Relief Society, we have talked about a multitude of topics during that four -year span, both spiritual in topic as well as temporal.  We have laughed together and cried together. Today was my last Sunday before we go to Argentina and the time attending this ward has come to an end so It was an emotional day today to say the least.  I will miss having all that time with those sweet women in Relief Society…these young mothers are truly amazing…

Endings are always hard.  Letting go of something you care about is hard.  But endings are also necessary as they allow for new beginnings to occur. If nothing ever came to an end then nothing new could ever begin. That is what we must remind ourselves of whenever we have to deal with something we love coming to an end as knowing that will help to see us through….

To those dear friends I taught in Relief Society I want them to know that even though our season together has come to an end, they will be a part of my life for a lifetime!   I love you all very much!  And that love will never end!

Con amor,
Vero
