Bishop Davies words to Daniel

Can this be true? Next Monday we are going to be in Buenos Aires for Daniel’s introduction to the South America South Area with Bishop Waddell and we are so excited for this as you can imagine since it’s like going home for Daniel.

Last Monday, on May 6th, Bishop Davies introduced the new DTA and spoke about Daniel. It was amazing! I kept writhing down what he said as fast as I could but couldn’t keep up, so I asked the Bishop if he could send me a copy which he did. This is what he said about Daniel:

“The Lord said early in this dispensation, “Organize yourselves, prepare every needful thing...”
Using today’s verbiage, we might say “coordinate in such a way that all parts work together
effectively.”

Directors for Temporal Affairs area a critical component of Church organization. They lead,
teach, support, plan, and execute for multiple operations within the Church administrative
structure.

There is a great deal of thought, review, analysis, and prayer that precedes the selection of a
DTA. It is a position of skill, responsibility, and importantly, trust. Changes within the DTA
level are very few, and in many instances occur only because of retirement or because of an
assignment given that stands above the role of a DTA. Assignments to the position of office of a
DTA are presented to and considered by the First Presidency.

Daniel De Almeida is a man in whom the Presiding Bishopric, Area Presidency, and First
Presidency have complete confidence and trust. He is faithful, diligent, and apt to teach; a man
who seeks out and follows the Spirit. He has vision, is wise in his thinking and choices, lifts
others, and is a devoted husband, father, and priesthood holder. He is patient and thoughtful. He has consistently magnified his assignments and callings. He is humble. He is a man of God.
Like Captain Moroni, he is courageous and seeks liberty and success for those he works with.
Like Nephi, he “goes and does” even when the path is not yet known. Like Alma, he works
tirelessly for the Church and good of all. We commend and congratulate Daniel and Veronica at
this important time and step in their lives.

They have accepted a new and important assignment in the South America South area. It is a time of new adventures, of family, of continued service to God. Daniel, we congratulate you on this remarkable day. In an ordinary way, we try to say thank you for extraordinary service.
All who are participating in this devotional today that would like to join with the Presiding
Bishopric and Area Presidency in expressing sincere and deeply felt love and admiration for

Daniel De Almeida, please join with me in raising your right hand!”

Every single hand went up. I felt so proud of the work Daniel has been doing here and the trust the Presiding Bishopric has of him.  Now we are busy getting ready for our next adventure.

Con amor,
Vero
