Weekend get away

Finally we were able to get away on Vacation to Coron, Palawan. Coron is the most picturesque part of Palawan which was voted Best Island in the world by travel several years ago.

 We had heard about it but had no idea what to expect. All we knew is that if your idea of a great vacation is lazing about on gorgeous beaches, with a good book in one hand and a fruity tropical drink or coconut in the other, Coron is the place to go.

First you come to the nearest airport in Busuanga about 40 minutes away then you take a boat to the resort of your choice. These resorts are on a private island and that is the beauty of it. The coral reefs are colorful and pristine. We woke up early each morning to go Kayaking and walking on the beach to get some exercise. We at times realized that we had the island virtually all to ourselves.

They offer Coron Island hopping tours but we only stayed in the resort. It was very expensive to stay there so I don't think I would come back to  that resort. It was a little over rated. They charged us over $200 more than what we had anticipated.

I learned that there are several islands as part of Palawan and its a hard choice to make between:Busuanga,  El nido, and Coron. What I love about this vacay is that Daniel was not connected and could really enjoy snorkeling. What an amazing weekend get away this was for sure and one we would love to repeat!
