Down Under

Last night we got home from our wonderful trip to Sydney, Australia. We left Saturday March 4th and returned Thursday March 9th. The cluster meeting was very much like it has been every year for the past six years I have attended them.

We first get together to have dinner on as we all have been arriving one by one.  Some come a little early and some right before it when it starts. We discovered that many come on a Saturday so they can attend Church on Sunday. We were traveling and got in around noon and too late to attend any services. Our room wasn't ready so we waited in the lobby until it got done and got ready a couple of  hours before we had dinner and that was too close for comfort.

The next day we all started together as a group with our husbands and then we divided the group to have our own wives meeting. We received a nice bracelet to have charms be added each year so is a bracelet I don't want to lose. We also got a book of women in the Church who did extraordinary things. After the meeting was over we ate lunch together and the women went on an outing excursion touring the city and shopping.

The next day we are spend the time all together as a group to see an interesting place where we are hosting  the cluster and in our case it was the Wildlife Sydney Zoo and the Opera  house. We also ate lunch at a boat cruise type ship. Captain Cook. It was wonderful. In the evening we went to very good restaurants both nights. that Tuesday night,  we had our interview with the Bishop where we discussed any concerns and we found out we are going to remain in Manila for another year.

The last day on Wednesday the wives have free time up to about 10:30 when we wrap up and have time for testimonies. I got up to bear my testimony and started and can't remember a thing I said but I did say that I support Daniel with his work. This time we ended the meeting and I was asked to give the benediction and bless the food to close the meeting.

In the afternoon Daniel and I went out and as we walked we found a bus that takes you all over town  and you can hop in and hop out as you get to see all the sites.  We did it twice and went souvenir shopping. The next morning early in the morning we took a taxi to the airport.

While we were there, we saw huge cruise ships docked so I imagine that is a good way to visit Sydney. The city was clean and beautiful. One thing off my bucket list.

Con amor,
Vero
