May the Fourth be with you!

Thoughts on our 46 days on quarantine.

Mandy reminded me that today is May fourth or “May the 4th be with you.” I was telling Daniel about it since he is such a big fan of Star Wars. We own every movie since the first one that came out in 1978.

There are great life lessons that we have learned over the years during the movie series.

Here are a few examples:

Número uno: Do or not. There is no try. Yoda. It’s never enough just to plan something and have goals, there comes a point when you need to start.

Dos, “I don’t believe it,” says Luke Skywaker to which Yoda responds, “That is why you fail.” Isn’t that the truth. The only way to succeed is to believe in yourself.

Tres, “Who is the more foolish, the fool? Or the fool who follows him?” Obiwan. When you see someone doing something dishonest or wrong or just dumb, don’t follow their bad example. Avoid fools at all costs.

Cuatro, “Always remember, your focus determines your reality.” Gon Jin The attitude with which we view our lives will determine what we see as reality. For example we can see our time of quarantine as a hindrance or we can view it as a learning experience meant to teach us something that will surely help us down the road. It’s our own focus on either the positive or the negative that determines our own reality.

Cinco, “Keep your concentration here and now where it belongs...be mindful of the future, but not at the expense of the moment.” Qui Gon Jin It’s good to have a vision for our future but not at the expense of enjoying today. And, don’t let your worries and fears about what might happen in the future distract you from doing what you need to in the present moment.

As we go through life, inside of us, we were born with everything we need to accomplish the mission we were sent here on earth to do as we go through life.

May the force be with all of you this 4th of May.

Con amor,
